Nightmarish experience in Pharaoh Egypt Hotel - Anand. Date of travel: Dec 2007
We stayed in Pharaoh Egypt Hotel for 2 nights (3 days) and I must say it's been the worst hotel I have probably ever stayed in. The hotel lifts were never working, and we had to climb 13 floors to reach our rooms. The rooms were small and stuffy. The bathrooms were poorly maintained and the flush was not working in some of the rooms. The telephones were more like antique pieces and did not have push buttons. The TV did not work. The room service was poor and took ages even for a cup of coffee. In all, it was a nightmarish stay and we were glad to check out!

The Pharaoh Egypt is conveniently located in downtown Cairo, near the train station and the residential and diplomatic sector of Cairo on Giza , Mohandesseen. It is also close to the airport and 12kms from the pyramids. It's a family friendly hotel, but also caters for business travellers. The rooms come with lots of luxuries like satellite TV, airconditioning (very necessary!) and a mini bar. There's a health club in the hotel (gym -sauna - steam baths- massage) and a beauty salon. The best part is the 13th floor pool-side bar on the roof overlooking the Nile which serves light meals and snacks. You can swim in the pool with a view of the pyramids!
