Iberotel Luxor - Nicole. Date of travel: Mar 2008
We were in Luxor a fex weeks ago for 1 week. The hotel was very good, good position, good food, nice rooms, nice pool, friendly staff.... The only remark I have is that there was "always" day and night the noise of cruiseboat and the terrible smell of petrol! That was really very annoying. For the rest... very good. Sofitel is only 1km away from the centre and with the shuttlebus, you are in the centre in a few minutes. At Sofitel it was much more quiet!Great!

This is the second posting for the Iberotel Luxor Hotel, we stayed in April, liked it so we booked for November, just returned. The Iberotel is excellent, staff so friendly and helpful, we ate at the Romance Italian restaurant within the grounds 3 times during the week. The meal with a good bottle of wine approx 200LE thats £19, a lot cheaper if you eat outside the hotel. A good example would be the Ritz restaurant about 100 metres past the Hotel Sonesta, 2 soups, bread, 2 fillet steaks and veg, 4 beers, 2 coffees 130LE thats £12, meal was excellent as was the service. Iberotel gardens are a delight, lovely pool, everywhere spotless and clean, rooms cleaned daily, towels and bedding changed daily as well. We can thoroughly recomend the Iberotel, we have booked 2 weeks next March/April.

This was our first time at the Iberotel in Luxor, staying for 5 times at Hotel Sonesta St George previously, we had enough of the clique that exists there. We had seen the refurbishment of the Iberotel in 2005, so extensive it was shut down for months.
The Iberotel is just as good as the Sonesta, for example Iberotel pool is excellent, Sonesta Reception is excellent, Iberotel Gardens are superb, Sonesta has films on the pontoon every evening and so on. We have booked the Iberotel for a further week in November and for two weeks next year in March/April. When we went in March of this year I emailed to book a superior room with a Nile view, this was done in seconds, cost £90 for the week, so have done this again for November cost again £90, this is well worth doing for the view alone.
The hotel is well placed for all the sights of Luxor. My missus and me really recommend the Iberotel. Ohh one further point Iberotel Staff cant do enough for you, so polite and helpful, when we returned to the hotel after going to eat or shopping they all said the samething, "Welcome home". Wonderful cant wait for November. Regards Susie and David

This was the first time we stayed at the Iberotel in Luxor, we have stayed at the Sonesta 6 times previously but got fed up with the clique there not wanting to join it, we saw the Iberotel being refurbished in 2005. The hotel is as good as the Sonesta, pool much better, staff more polite, gardens better, outside terrace far better, more tables outside for breakfast, Sonesta reception better than Iberotel, no films on evenings at Iberotel, Sonesta room service bit better, Sonesta has a full bath, so it depends on ones priorities, but we can certainly recomend the Iberotel, we have booked a week this November and 2 weeks next year in March/April, so it can't be that bad, I also emailed to upgrade to a superior room with a Nile view, this was done in approx 1 hour of receipt of my email. Iberotel also has an extensive library. Better location for centre of Luxor. Historical sights and some good outside restaurants.
