My wife, daughter and I stayed at the Mondial Paris over the Thanksgiving holidays this year (2005) and was completely amazed at what we had seen on the e-net and what we experienced when we arrived. The pictures were not even close (a real dump). We paid for a triple room and there were 3 beds in the room all right, against each other. We couldn't even walk in the room. No closet, no coat hangers and the room was very dirty. If they have just renovated this hotel, then they missed our room. There is no lounge, no bar and the only good thing about the hotel was the morning buffet (good food) limited food on table, but over all good breakfast. The hotel is located on a dead end side street, with very shady people at entrance of street all night, doing what is very popular in Paris. The location is close by the Opera and the restaurants in this area are highly over rated and very expensive. I have traveled all over the world and never paid 6.00 for cup of coffee and 8.00 for a coke in a one star cafe. If you are considering traveling to Paris at this time, I would condider another city or country. I have been to Paris many times in the past 20 years, but found the French people have never been more rude and angry to not only Americans, but everybody. This was definitely my last trip to Paris and what a shame for it's such a beautiful city with so much history. Tour Operator: GATE ONE
