My fiance and i stayed for a week at the Maria Studios and it was not long enough! We both agree it was the best holiday we have had for a long time and hope to return here for longer next year. Katarina and Yannis ensured we were well looked after and contrary to previous comments we enjoyed Yannis personality and the entertainment! The accommodation and facilities were very comfortable, clean and well maintained and we were content to spend most of our days there by the pool. The location of the studios was fine for us as we are happy to stay around local tavernas and bars which were all very nice and within walking distance. Please note that there are also the Maria Apartments but these are not the same place! Maria Studios are the ones with the bar and pool (much nicer), some photographs are incorrect and actually show the apartments! There is also plenty of transport and opportunities to go further afield if desired. We had some lovely meals home cooked by the family and thoroughly enjoyed the barbeque evening. We met some lovely people during our stay and felt it a perfect holiday for a couple, but equally there were families that seemed to be having a nice time too. We had no problems travelling with Malta Air and the transfers were on time and very comfortable. The friendliness of the family and their friends meant that we were very sad to leave and we cannot wait to return next year.

Just arrived back from a week at the Maria Studios. Had a brilliant week - Paleokastrista is beautiful and quiet. Maria Studios is a great place to stay, very clean, nothing is too much trouble. The owners, Yiannis and Katerina are excellent company and very entertaining. Would also highly recommend the BBQ on the Saturday. Anyone wanting a care-free laid back holiday with excellent accomodation is in for a treat. Only down side is the Friday night flights with Air Malta from Manchester - weekly delays from 1hour up to 4 hours. Don't use Air Malta!!
Apart from that excellent holiday.

We enjoyed a relaxing week in July at Maria Studios. There were 5 of us, my husband, me and three teenagers. Granted not much to do at night but chill out. Yanis and Katrina great hosts and BBQ night excellent. Accommodation was clean and comfortable, although you couldn't cook in the apartment since there were only two electric rings. Cheap to eat out and next door the restaurant is great value. Nice place, nice people and totally relaxing holiday.

Just came back from Paleokastritsa and stayed at the Maria Studios, totally hated this place can't believe that people go back to these studios year after year. Wanted a chilled out day time and decided to hit the pool. Yianis who owns the place was bantering with the guests even swearing at them and calling them all kinds. People found this funny and said he was great but we found him rude and not funny at all. We went to the Greek night which was okay for €25 got a bit of chicken and salad and watched Yianis make a show of himself dancing around fire thinking he was the boy. His wife was nice and friendly poor girl has to put up with him. We also had to pay for air con €6 a day as room was stuffy also it didn't get cleaned much x3 seen cleaner in room the whole two weeks we stayed there. Our bed linen was only changed once and towels only once then cleaner took bath towels away and never replaced them again glad I took extra! Also the toilet paper can't go down the loo as we know and we had to change the bag ourselves as it was just left by the cleaner, this made me sick as we've stayed in Corfu before and bins were changed every day. If you want to be insulted by this arrogant man every day of your hols stay here, he never said anything to us but if you're not spending your money here he doesn't like people.
Paleo is beautiful! - Alison and Ste. Date of travel: May 2008We stayed at the Maria Studios in Paleokastritsa, which were very clean and the family who run it could not have done more to help us and our 3 children aged 5, 4 and 1. The scenery is stunning - we walked up the rather steep road to the Apollon once (enough!) and down towards the Monastry a number of times. The walk from the Maria studios is rather long for little ones (we borrowed a buggy from the owners of the apartments), and spent most days at the Acapulco which has a great pool and access to the sea! Would recommend the Spiros and Oasis for food. Nereids also has great dancing nights and plate smashing- our kids loved it. Would definitelty visit here again. Have been to Skiathos, Thassos, Crete and Zante and Paleo is def up there as the most stunning.

Paleo was BEAUTIFUL and the Maria Studios was alright but I don't understand how so many people sing such high praise of this man. I travelled as a single parent with my two boys and were not made to feel welcome at all.We spent money at the bar and were very polite but didn't receive the same treatment as other guests. Starting to think it must be us until got talking to another parent who was travelling on her own they didnt behave well to her either. Just to give an example, as soon as we arrived we went straight to buy a/con at the bar where Yannis was and before I had even said hello he signalled to a male guest he was talking to with his hand towards me and said "there is one every year, year of the dog" the male guest laughed and I left. My holiday continued on from there. We were told off other people that they had been returning for years and that because I was a single parent that they would be helpful, they were not. I know at least two other women travelling with kids, while I was there, felt very strongly about this and tried to talk to the rep but she is clearly very close and loyal to them and did not want to know. There were loads of brilliant locals in Paleo, tavernas and scenery it is a great place to go, we would go again, but not to the maria studios. So if you or you know a female that is travelling without any male company DON'T stay at the Maria Studios.

Clean, comfortable and slightly crazy - you'll love your time at Maria Studios! Most of the people we met had been coming here for years, some of them twice a year. Yiannis is a pyschic barman and knows what you like to drink before you do. He is a great laugh and if he likes you he will promote you to being a Dilligaf!
Bob plays really great music and deserves a better music deck - how about it Yianni? All the staff work very hard and nothing is too much trouble. The pool is kept scrupulously clean, and bed linen changed several times a week. The food is cooked by Maria, Yiannis's mum and is of a very high standard. There are now aircon units to hire. BBQ and dancing on a Saturday is not to be missed. The nearest beach is less than 10 minutes walk away and the area has lots of mini-supermarkets, bars, and hire-shops. Bus stop to Corfu town opposite. The picture in the Argo brochure has been reversed and is rather old. It's now much nicer!

I defy anyone visiting Paleo not to be impressed by the natural beauty and friendliness of the locals. We had a week at the begining of May 2007 when the weather was wonderful and the temperature more acceptable. Our strongest recommendation as far as eating is to visit the Spiros Taverna up the top of the hill from the harbour. The family run taverna is a joy to eat in and the family members will make you feel at home. Ask Angelo for one of his cocktails - you won't be disappointed. Two other good value experiences - a boat around the caves cost €3 and a bus/coach into Corfu Town €2.

This was the second time me and my mum have been to Paleokastritsa and somehow it was even better than the first time we went. We didn't stay at Maria Studios this year although we might as well of done because we spent most of our time there anyway. The owners of Maria Studios, Yiannis and Katerina were absolutely lovely people and I can't forget Bob and Jannis who work there. Great food and a lovely pool, I just wish I didn't have to go home! I would definitly reccomend Stefano's boat BBQ. We went on our last day and saw some dolphins, it definitly made our holiday. Anyone thinking of going to Paleokastritsa should definitly go for it!!!

Stayed at Maria Studios/Faros pool bar twice this year. One week in June and two in August - love it that much going back 2nd october for another week!!
Yannis, Katerina and their family are lovely people and they make you feel so welcome. We met Bob and Janice in June - they help out here and are a lovely couple.
The food here is excellent. Rooms are clean and have everything you need except air con, which you could do with in August.
BBQ every sat night is really good with nice food and wine, then Yiannis does Greek dancing with his sisters, its a good night.
Paleo is a lovely very beautiful resort we have been going for years now. Locals are very friendly and great with kids.
Just down from Faros is Moody Blues bar which stays open till last person leaves which is normally us (6am)!! For a quiet drink go the other way to Mistral bar it has a lovely view.
Will always go to Paleokastritsa and always stay at Maria Studios love it that much!!!
Its little Spiros birthday the day we arrive in october. Two weeks to go can't wait.

I visited the Maria studios in September 2005 with my boyfriend. I can honestly say it was one of the best apartments I have stayed in. Yiannis, Katerina (who was pregnant at the time) are a great couple and work very hard. In fact the whole family are very friendly and do their best to make your holiday memorable. It was my first time visiting the Greek islands and I have longed to go back ever since. I would say it is a great place to stay for families and for couples. We travelled with Argo and the rep was very helpful. The BBQ night was fantastic and the food from the pool bar was also very good. The pool is also very clean. I would say that the Maria Studios are a great base for a holiday in Corfu and I would definitely stay there again.
