We stayed at the Westin Europa, right in the heart of Venice. The standard of the hotel was fantastic and provided an excellent base to explore. I would recommend Venice to all ages as it has something to offer everyone - shopping, culture, history and even a beach for the kids! To save money you should buy a water taxi pass for your duration - this gives you unlimited use of the water taxis and is a great way to get around.
