We initially wanted to stay at the Daddy Long Legs Boutique Hotel further down Long Street, but figured out that it worked out cheaper if we all took the self-catering option. The hotel is great, but the apartments are fantastic! Very urban, with a comfy but stylish design, I really wished that I could have owned that exact apartment in that perfect location! The only downside is the excessive noise that comes from the popular club, Marvel, just across the street (no matter which day of the week until about 4am), but if you're looking to party on Long Street, you really won't mind the noise. They do provide earplugs for those who can't handle the sounds of the city and clubs surrounding the apartments, and the four of us were living it up being right in the centre of all that is happening in the city centre. There are great restaurants just below the apartments, and it's all pulled off with enough class to make one feel that it was money well-spent. The prices do vary a lot throughout the year, and almost doubles between summer and winter. But it's usually still quite a bit cheaper than a hotel, but also much more than a backpackers - nice, if you're a group of about four or so and want to live in style and not fork out loads for a boring hotel. They do some long-ish stays too (about a month or so I was told). Getting inside can be a bit tricky, especially if you're arriving on a Sunday (the check-in desk at the travel centre below isn't open, but you will be redirected to the hotel a few blocks away, which is open 24/7). It's worth having a look at the hotel too - very unique. The apartments are cleaned every day, which is great, and the whole design is open-plan. There aren't any decent TV channels, but you won't be watching much TV...
