By no means should the Litera Icmeler Deluxe Hotel be classed as 4 stars, we were advised it was a 5 star the reality however is more like 2 stars, upon arrival we were treated to miserable staff, below average food, poor accommodation the room was supposed to have a balcony which it didn't there were randon pipes sticking out of the walls, the fridge didn't work! Everyday we would listen to other people talking about the hotel and not one person staying there during our stay had anything positive to say about the place most, in fact, had it far worse than we did. Everyday there would be a queue of people waiting to complain to the less then helpful holiday rep. My advice to anyone considering booking up with the Litera would be to read the various reviews prior to going away this is what we did and were surprised to read more negative reviews then positive however the rational in still going was that we believed it is easy to write a bad review then a good one, however with this hotel it is an exception the place was completely mis-represented.

We have just arrived back from Turkey this morning and we stayed in the Litera Icmeler Deluxe Hotel. We were sold a 5 star rating holiday and it is anything but, I would class this as a 2 or 3 star. the food was very basic if you like chicken then you are onto a winner as there is chicken every afternoon and evening. We also booked this hotel for the facilities for my 14-year-old son but every time he played anything you were charged unless it was water polo. Also the electricity went off at 6.30pm every evening and came back on at 7.30pm so if you want a shower avoid these times, the rooms are very basic but clean. Air con cost us £25 pounds a week and £30 for a safety deposit box for the two weeks nothing is free in Turkey. On a lighter note the staff are very friendly and Icmeler is lovely and I would return but not to the Litera Deluxe. I would make sure it was 5 star accommodation and not 5 suns as our rep reminded us.

| We just got back from Litera Icmeler Deluxe Hotel (Aug '08). Not sure what everyone's moaning about, the food was what you would expect for a 5 suns (not 5 stars), there's 3 pools, and 4 bars to choose from, something for everyone, also thought the rep was very helpful.

Well I was in the Litera Icmeler Deluxe Hotel 2 weeks ago and I have to say the hotel was good but the food wasn't. The entertainment was ok. Football was on when I was there so good atmosphere. I would go back for sure. Only thing is there aren't many sunbeds.

The actual Abacus Hotel is grand but the rooms are basic sleeping areas, the food is mostly Turkish themed, tasty with a reasonable choice although sometimes not as warm as I'm used to back home. The entertainment is the usual, pool games during the day and at night is good with bingo every night (not for me) then Karaoke or Turkish belly dancing with Turkish and middle eastern ladies who are gorgeous and very good at what they do. On Wednesdays there is the local market where bargains can be had through haggling but beware of cheap imitations as Turkey has no copyright laws so everything can be copied. Also children are pressured to buy products so if you take them to the market don't allow them to wander to far or you will find them with many braclets on and being talked into spending thier money. Away from the market the Turkish people are very warm and hospitable people and very easy to talk to and get along with and if you learn a few basic sentances i.e hello, goodbye, thank you, ect, they are very receptive. There are loads of bars and restaurants with Sky TV for the football fans. Overall we had a good holiday and experience. If you do visit I would encourage you to take the 45 minute catamaran trip to Rhodes. That island was beautiful and there were many bargains to be had. Would I return to Turkey again? Yes. I hope my review helps you to decide if Turkey, and further, if Icmeler is a holiday spot for you.

The Abacus Park Icmeler is in an excellent position, the hotel is basic but clean, the staff very helpful and friendly. There are 3 Hotels are in the chain and any of them can be used, the Metropole being the most popular. The food was well cooked but Chicken Caserolle and Meat Balls were served almost every day...boring. I would not go all-inclusive again as the food is better and cheaper in the restaurants in Icmeler.
