Okay, so I booked this holiday at the Nergis Beach Club in very early January. I have to admit that I did not read reviews before I booked the holiday and once I had booked it, I was horrified to read the reviews on here. I was beginning to think that it was (for me) a very expensive mistake. Having stayed at Nergis Beach, I just want to laugh. I very almost cancelled my holiday at a wonderful hotel because of the negative reviews on here. Obviously everyone has their reasons for making a bad review but honestly.. I don't get it. I began my holiday on Friday 21 March and checked in at Club Nergis Beach at 4am Turkish time. I was not myself in the best of moods because it had been an already long 4 hour flight and then an additional 2 hour shuttle bus transfer. Yet upon arrival, staff were attentive and prepared for our arrival. They ask you to complete a simple form upon arrival, which is like name address passport number etc and ask to see your Hotel Accomodation Voucher. They also wish to see your Travel Voucher which for me was the transfer voucher I got through stapled to the Accomodation Voucher. Simple enough. I had requested a sea view room and I got one, no questions asked, no hesitation.. nothing. I stayed in the accomodation block in the photos, which people are describing here as being "Block A" and no doubt people will argue that I would have had a wonderful stay, because the other blocks are the bad ones. I would just like to say, that I spoke to MANY other guests staying in the other blocks and none of them had any bother. I am not trying to talk up the hotel, but I simply cannot believe that people are going on about how bad the other blocks are when throughout my stay I didn't hear a single bad word said about them. Very strange. You will get a tag for your wrist upon arrival, and it sounds obvious, but you need to keep this on so that no questions are asked when you potter around. Okay so the next complaint on here is food. What on earth..?? I am amazed that people complain. Hot food was always hot and cold food was always cold. For breakfast you can expect cornflakes, muesili, corn puff type cereal, raisins and milk on tap. There were always dried fruits and various fruits in syrup available. Also honey. You can also find cold meats i.e. they look a little bit like the sandwich meats you get back home - but so what? If you don't like that kind of thing then don't eat it. There were always a selection of cheeses too. For hot breakfast foods there were boiled eggs available every day (with an egg cup, readily available), usually tomato halves plain, or with cheese, some form of vegetables usually roasted, scrambled eggs with varying flavourings to them, sausage (although not as we know it back home, although still very tasty), toast and on the terrace (where the outside seating is, by the pool) you can ask the chef for an omelette (with cheese and/or tomato) and he will happily make one up for you. I believe he makes other things too like pancakes, although I did not eat those so I did not ask. Omelettes were nice and salt and pepper are readily available on your table. A selection of breads and butter, also crossaint style things were available each day. For lunch it varied although there was usually a good selection. There was generally always rice, flavoured with different things either sweetcorn or what looked like a herb/spice, it was brown but very tasty. Sometimes the rice was served plain. A large selection of salads were available at lunch and dinner alike. Mixed leaves, 4 different oils, carrot (grated), sweetcorn, red cabbage, spring onions, radish, There was also meats available again. Hot meat dishes were always available and usually chicken with vegetables, or in a sauce. There was usually pasta with a form of sauce. For dinner again it varied but always plenty of choice. Soup was available and you can take as much bread as you like - no-one will flash you a dodgy look. Chicken nuggets were usually available. Chips were usually available and/or rice. Again there were vegetables but different from the earlier dishes. Pasta was usually available and different from lunch. There is an ice cream counter with toffee, vanilla, strawberry and chocolate ice cream which you can have in a cone or in a dish (use a soup dish if you want more than 1 scoop). A large selection of Turkish cakes were available (usually very moist with a nutty taste) and also jelly style Turkish puddings. Each evening they had a very fresh, tasty cake and I would recommend people try this. And again, the terrace chef is available to cook you something if you prefer. I have made a point about listing as much of the food choices as I can remember. In my opinion, it is simply not enough to say "Didn't like it" because, what help is that to anyone reading these? I personally thought the selection of food and preparation was flawless. Food is always buffett. Food is available from 7-10 for breakfast, 12-2 for lunch, 2:30-4 for snack food (usually pizza, chips, salad and veg or something similar), 5-6 was coffee and cake, 7-9 was dinner and 11-12pm was evening soup. Alcohol and drinks from the bar are only available from 10am ONWARDS, so if you want a drink with breakfast then you can have cherry cordial, orange cordial, strawberry cordial or water without being charged. You can also have coffee or herbal tea without charge. Drinks are available until 11pm at night. They do a nice beer or you can have red/white wine which is available on tap so you just go and help yourself. Staff around the hotel were always pleasant. They remembered my order at the bar and always said hello and removed plates once finished with them and glasses. They never messed around and were always very professional. Twice there were birthdays of guests in the hotel and on each occassion they got a cake with candles and mini cake sparkers. All the staff sung and congratulated the person whose birthday it was. I thought this was a lovely touch. One thing I would say is that seating seemed to be a small problem during the evenings. There is a widescreen TV in the lobby with seating but at night this filled up quickly and sometimes people sitting here at 4pm would still seem to be in the same place later in the evening. Not that this is the guests fault for staying put, but it is an issue the hotel should address, especially when there is room for additional seating. Another small problem was cats visiting you outside when eating. I would advise you to ignore them and do not fuss/make eye contact with them. They do pester you and claw at your clothes but they do leave you alone if you ignore them. I made the mistake once of fussing one of the cats- never again! I ended up with a clawed leg and ripped jeans. I did find that when doing activities in the day I was quite tired in the evening. If you wanted to go to bed before 1-2am then there was noise from the lobby. It is all an open area and the volume once in your room does seem louder than when you are downstairs. It sounds a bit like being in a swimming baths when you can hear eccos of people talking. I would not let this ruin your stay. Take earplugs or learn to relax to it - as I did - and I am a very light sleeper. It wasn't impossible for me to start to wind down to the eccoing in the background and sleep to it being there. My room did have a balcony and the view was quite impressive. As I only got back today I have not had time to upload photos to my computer yet but I will try to in due course. My room's balcony had 2 chairs and a small table. The room itself was a double, with a fridge cabinate, Safety Deposit Box (which you had to pay I think £10 for a week..? I didn't use it so I can't be exactly sure), an extra pillow, 2 thick blankets, the usual bedding, coat hooks, a vanity dresser with mirror and stool. There was also a wardrobe but with limited coat hangers if you like to unpack everything. Our shower room was provided with shampoo bottles and soap, and also toilet rolls 2 which were replenished each day. I will say that I was slightly unhappy with the shower head and that the chrome colouring on it was peeling off quite badly. The water was warm and did not fluctuate. We did get one evening before we went to bed where the water temporarily did not seem to be working. This was simply an issue with air being in the pipe and the cold water just needed running very slowly for a little while and then the hot water came back on. It was not until the next day that we sorted this however that was partly due to us being tired and thinking we would just take a closer look in the morning. Had it not worked though, I feel extremely confident that reception would have been helpful in looking at the problem and were certainly approachable. The maids came in and cleaned our rooms every day and one day we found our towel, folded in a heart shape with flower petals sprinkled in the centre. I did take a photo however again, I have not had time to upload it. A fantastic touch though. It was quite amusing one day when my boyfriend had left a t-shirt on the bed when leaving the room and when we returned it had been folded in a fan shape along with the towels - very nice!!! The hotel has use of wifi in the main buillding reception and so if you have a laptop/ipod touch then just ask reception for the WAP password key and they will happily let you have it. This internet connection will only work from the main reception and not from your room. You may change Sterling/Euro/Dollars/Travellers Cheques etc in the main reception building. Although many many places in Turkey readily accept Sterling so it is up to you whether you take it or not. I personally took a small amount or Lira to get me started then Travellers Cheques - which reception always pleasantly changed for me. I forgot to mention that there is a bellboy who will carry your bags to your room on arrival. We told him not to bother with ours but he said he would like to help and carried my bag for me. When we arrived at the room, he very swiftly left and did not hang around for a tip which I thought was pleasant. I will just say that when I got to my room, which was as I have said, the one on the main photos - there was a booklet case thing (inside was a questionnaire) which said Nergis Select. So what I think actually is that Nergis Beach are like.. part of the management.. and Select are the names of the actual buildings or apartment blocks that everyone here refers to. I could be wrong, but that would explain to me why Nergis Select gets so many positive reviews. When I booked my holiday it was booked with transfers with Yesil Dalyan Travel who work with Hotels4u. I would highly recommend using this company. Despite us visting at the end of Turkey's low season i.e. tourist attractions do not start usually until April onwards, Yesil Dalyan Travel in co-operation with Hotels4u did organise various trips. Make sure that you do go to your welcome meeting because they will help you on the outset with everything you could possibly need help with. They also provide you with transfer home slips so that they can arrange for the transfer home. I know this goes slightly off the hotel point, but for anyone interested I did Jeep Safari, Dalyan Day Trip (Visiting the mud baths, turtle beach and Dalyan town), Turkish Baths, Quad Biking, Pamukkale, Icemer Market and City Tour so if you are thinking about activities before you go and want more information/advice before you go then just send me a private message, I will be more than happy to help you. I hope that I have not missed off anything and yes I have been extremely thorough but I simply cannot believe the reviews this hotel has been getting and unless they have had an extremely swift turn around, at the moment this hotel is not being done justice. If you want more information about anything then I will be more than happy to help if it means people staying here. I would not like to think that people are being put off, like I almost was. FYI I went for 1 week with my boyfriend and would recommend this accomodation and time of year to travel to my friends.

My family booked a holiday to Turkey for one week. We arrived at Turkey at 12.00am to find that our transport did not arrive for us. We had to pay a taxi which cost £55.00. We eventually arrived at the Nergis Beach Club hotel, it looked really nice until we met the man at the desk he was rather nasty to my family. It was 1.00am and we decided we had to sleep in the hotel because we wouldn't find anywhere at that time. We went up to the rooms to find them very small, stinking of cigarette smoke, very, very run down carpet and there was big bolts sticking out of the wall in the bathroom. The next morning we went to look for a new fresh and CLEAN hotel. We went everywhere and found a lovely hotel called the Royal Garden it is fantastic. We called up the transport company to find out they can't refund the £55.00. I really advise you not to go to the Nergis Beach Club Hotel. The staff at the desk aren't very nice and they make fun of your sexuality!

The Nergis is one of the best hotels we have been to. The staff are so friendly and cant do enough for you. The prices go up nearer the end of the season but even then the hotel is fairly priced. One of the best pubs is the Turtle Bar, make sure you get a turtle bowl and your free t-shirt. Another must do is the boat trip. The Nergis Beach Club is of such high quality that we wouldn't stay anywhere else. The cleaners are great and always have a smile on their face, the bar staff and kitchen staff are always trying to make sure you enjoy your stay at the hotel. I would definately recomend the Nergis to anyone.
