Wherever you go in Dubai it's too hot to walk and you will need a car or taxis which are very cheap. For the women take a thin shawl or a cardigan as the temperature from the outside to the inside of any shop can vary up to 20ºC (it's like having hot & cold flushes). There is virtually no crime in Dubai because if anyone commits a crime they are kicked out of the country instantly and will never be allowed back in. Good idea I think!!! Make sure you put aside a day for the Wild Wadi water park as it is just amazing. We have never had so much fun; we went in at 11:30am and didn't leave until 6pm. People were still coming in as we were leaving. Do try and do the Sand Safari as it's a once in a lifetime experience. It's definitely not for the faint hearted. I get car sick quite quickly and was ill right on queue through the trip but it was well worth it. I would do it again in a heart beat. I hope that all that I have written will help you enjoy your trip to Dubai.

I stayed in Sharjah with friends as her husband had been arrested by Sharjah police: he was beaten and thrown into jail for nothing all because a local he worked with wanted him out of the way. I left as soon as I could. Man its a corrupt place. She is back in the USA now with her children; her husband is not even allowed to call his children. I could not recommend it to visit, its just not safe. They need to bring their laws up to international standards.

I travelled to Dubai and was unsure what to expect, there really is no need to worry - it is the most wonderful place I have been to. We stayed at the Oasis Beach in Dubai. The Hotel was supurb, it was situated right on the beach and had a few restaurants that you could try everything from a snack bar to an a la carte restaurant. I found the price very reasonable for the standard of the hotel, the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We went to the water park which was a great day out and the shopping is fantastic - there are two main shopping malls and they have all the shops from your Topshop to designer stores all at great prices. And all electrical goods are great bargains to get. The weather was about 30'C everyday so I imagine it would get very hot at the height of the season.

Where to start! Dubai has so much to do and see, from the spice and gold souks in the city to the water parks and fabulous beaches on the coast . There is something for everyone. We stayed in the Al Bustan Rotana, a 5* city hotel, truly lovely. The food was of an excellent standard, the pool area although small was adequate. I was supprised at how much there was to do, we had a fantastic time on a jeep safari sliding down the dunes, then went on a boat trip up the creek and saw the fabulous architecture. Shopping in Dubai is not for the faint hearted, always barter and get some fantastic deals, comfy shoes are an essential. Water sports are very popular in Dubai, so too is golf and horse racing.
