I was born in England but lived most of my life in South Africa. Now my children are grown and both spending time working in London. I went over to visit them recently and was sad to discover that in nine months there they have barely moved out of the city, and in fact have not discovered the beauty of the "real England" at all! So, I sat them down in front of a computer and browsed some websites and made them choose a destination. We ended up at Stow-on-the-Wold for a weekend, and they were enchanted! They have now pledged to spend every free weekend exploring the picturesque countryside and villages that make England so special!

England is a lovely place for anyone to visit as it has a lot to offer. There is Blackpool which is like a miniature Las Vegas and has lots to do, there is the Lake District, Cumbria up North which is very Scenic, hills, countryside, little villages etc ideal for walkers etc, as is Cotswolds and Derbyshire. There are plenty of Seaside Resorts from Blackpool, Scarborough, Whitby etc and Cornwall which is down South and like Channel Islands, also there is Beautiful Brighton, Bournmouth down South and York is a step back in the past with lots of history attached to it. England has a lot to offer for everyone with many cities such as York, Manchester, Liverpool, London etc and Preston up north is a small but pleasant place to shop as is the city of Lancaster and Many places in Yorkshire and Lancashire has lots to offer the tourist with many good places to eat, wine, dine and food restaurants to cater for all tastes.
