Zagreb
For culture vultures, Zagreb is the place to be. The capital of Croatia is located on the slopes of Medvednica Mountain and along the banks of the Sava River. Zagreb is a great place to vacation - Bruce. Date of travel: May 2005
We stayed in Zagreb in late May and early June 05. The Slisco hotel is near the main bus terminal. I found it clean, the daily breakfast adequate and the bar and outdoor cafe pleasant with good service. Everyone speaks a little English so it was easy to communicate. The tram service was great and very inexpensive. I found that I could buy an all day tram pass for 18 Kuna, a 90 minute pass was 5 Kuna. The highlight of our trip was a night at the national opera to see La Bohem. It was delightful and well worth it.
Great city. - Dana Lucka. Date of travel: Apr 2005
Zagreb is a vibrant capital city with much to offer to the curious tourist. My travels have been in the summer months which can be rahter hot and humid compared to the Adriatic coast. The older section of town is filled with museums and intersting venues that give you a glimpse in to its rick history dating back a 1000 years. For me, I like Gorne Grad (the upper portion of the older section of town). Its unique and very intersting.
