MAKARSKA HOLIDAY REVIEWS
Makarska
One of the most attractive resorts on the Croatian coast, Makarska is a short drive south of Split. Lying in the curve of a sweeping horseshoe bay fringed by two peninsulas covered by pine groves, and backed by the impressive Biokovo mountain range with the peak of St. George, Makarska is a picturesque town. Makarska-Brela coastal walk - Rob and Irene. Date of travel: Sep 2007
We stayed 2 nights in Brela, south of Split and as a day trip caught the bus to Makarska 14km away where we discovered that we could walk all the way back to Brela along the coast! What a wonderful way to explore the Makarska Riviera, walking past stunning beaches, through forests, along cliff tops and through interesting little fishing villages. Had a few swims along the way, chose a secluded beach to picnic on, and basically spent the day meandering our way home along this beautiful coastline.
