Fascinating
Powerful and intersting trip, lots of seasick people on the ferry ride over and unforunately got stuck on a tour with a bunch of students (also from the US, but alot of them were more concerned with each other than the tour). Incredibly to stand outside Nelson Mandela's cell. Humbling. An excellent tour guide (most of them are all ex-political prisoners) but unfortunately not enough time given to explore the fascinating exhibit of prisoner;s artefacts. Lots of historical points of interest on the island, and also a chance to see penguins, springbok and other buck. 2nd tour on the bus also very informative (Thulani was an entertaining and interesting guide). tour also slightly marred by a woman who kept answering her cellphone while teh guide was talking!!! Obviously the kind of person who answers their phone at the movies! Definitely a highlight on our trip to Cape Town.
