Salou town - Morris. Date of travel: Jun 2008
Salou has a great beach, lots of shops and restaurants, can't recommend any, stayed half board at hotel. Very busy resort so early in the season (early June). Well worth a visit if you like the hustle and bustle.
Salou Salou - Lisa (Kerry's hen do). Date of travel: May 2008
Stayed for 3 days in Salou for a hen weekend it was awesome. Great fun and very entertaining!! Favourite bars where Christy's and Chaplins!! Good music and great for dancing! Nightclub we usually went to was Kiss! This was great had the best music in Salou and was not full of Spanish people like in Snoepy's. Some of the touts for the clubs can be very pushy though so be firm with them. Mark from Kiss nightclub was cool, thinks himself as a bit of a player though! Very good at sweet talking people into the nightclub! Overall holiday was a ball and I would go back but only for a girly holiday!
Salou was good - Julie Latham. Date of travel: May 2008
Went to Port Aventura, which was brill, a bit pricy when you get in for something to eat. Did not have to queue up for that long, but it was early season. Rides are fantastic, daughter (13) really enjoyed herself. Went to Aquapolis (water park), which was a bit on the small side, but was great and even had a Seal and Dolphin show included in the price which was great. Chippies was good and at reasonable prices, the girls there made you feel welcome. Don’t go to the Chinese on the front street, just passed Gabbers, you don’t get your meal you ordered and then they try and bill other people for what you have not had. Rosie’s Return was nice. Go and get your photo taken with the European Cup in Shankley’s Bar. Don’t go and see Elvis at Sinatra’s unless you take the words with you so he can read them whilst he is singing, Elvis would have turned in his grave, awful performance!!!! There’s a hotel opposite Shamrock’s bar, great night out, has a 3.00am bar and happy hour. Entertainment is fantastic (Talentless Tom needs to go there and get trained up on how to entertain people!!!!).
Great - Denise Nightingale. Date of travel: May 2008
Salou was great but Id say I wouldn't go there again. Not after the time I had :(
Jeep Safari - scottishgal. Date of travel: May 2008
Driver didn't speak to English people. No commentary on tour-didn't have a clue where we were. Paid 130 euros to sit in a Jeep all day driving around, no communication. Would not recommend it.
I loved Salou and Kiss nightclub - Charlotte. Date of travel: May 2008
Salou is really good, going back again next year. Kiss nightclub was brill, weather was brill too.
Loved Salou! - Charlotte. Date of travel: May 2008
Salou is really good. There are plenty of things to do and it is really clean. The nightlife in Salou is really busy and there lots of great bars to choose from. I really enjoyed Kiss nightclub.
Salou rocks - Nikki. Date of travel: Sep 2007
Loved Salou. Apartments were nice, hotel was good too. The area was fab, so much to do around Salou. Theme park, water park, beach, zoo, Barcelona, booze cruizes, shops, restaurants bars and CLUBBING! Had a great week. Weather was good. Lots of friendly people. Would definitely go again!
I love Salou - Sloanes. Date of travel: Sep 2007
Its was our 5th time to Salou and I love it. We used to take our daughters but now they all grown up its just me and hubby, but we always meet a nice friendly crowd. Salou has everything to offer for the young, middle aged and elderly. The prom is lovely, you can walk in shade or sun as it has a section which is tree lined. There is a pub called captains cabin, dutch owed the cook is scotish, the meals are fantastic plenty of choice too. We were recommended, so pleased I was, we ate there every day. It's over the road at the robin hood second on the left at the super market on the corner, you will not be disappointed tell them Gloria told you. We are going back to Salou next year and taking our grandson, can't wait.
Salou next to everywhere - Bigmoni. Date of travel: Sep 2007
Nightlife in Salou never stops, it's also next to Portaventura. From Salou you get to Barcelona in less than 2 hours by train.
OK - Sharon. Date of travel: Sep 2007
I'm only just back from Salou, the weather was fab, especially for this time of the year. Salou itself is a bit old and worn compared to other resorts, but still a nice place to visit. Plenty to do, day trips to Barcelona, Nou Camp, Zoo, aquarium etc, and the beach is beautiful. I found the nightlife not great, not much of a variety, and by the end of the week you would be withered of the same pubs night after night, with the same bands, same songs, same jokes etc. Not many nice places to eat also, found a nice Italian, La Speziana, great food, and also The Danny Boy is a great pub with great food also.
Salou good for couples and families - Mrs Lynn Kendrick. Date of travel: Sep 2007
The front in Salou is great, trees for shade if you want that and seats so you can rest. The beach is perfect, the longest stretch of beach I have seen and it shelves gently into the sea. Always the mountains in the background. What a lovely backdrop.
I really enjoyed Salou it was my first time there and I'm going back next year - Natalie Smith. Date of travel: Sep 2007
Salou is a great place to visit. The Portaventura Park and the Caribe Water Park is a must place to go to. It's fun for all ages not just children. There are lots of bars and restaurants for you to eat in or just have a drink, you won't be stuck for that. Lots of English bars too which you will get the football on large screens or you can watch all you favourite soaps.
Salou - Rosemary Thomas. Date of travel: Sep 2007
Great for wheelchairs, lots of shops , fountains brill, Pizza Parlour ice-cream sundies out of this world and great value for money try it on the sea front just up from fountains and before the tobacco shop. Streets and roads perfect for wheelchairs easy to cross roads.
Salou big place but great - Tom. Date of travel: Aug 2007
Salou is very big. Pubs far apart but great place. Needs 2 visits to get familiar with area. Very clean but very busy streets at night. Watch out for the pick pockets but they are at every resort. Fun Park is brilliant but can be very busy. Better at night around 5pm. Fireworks display at 12am a must but get a good view point early. Had a great holiday 4 adults & 2 kids.
Excellent place, Salou - Susan Giles. Date of travel: Aug 2007
A very busy place, the beach, well you had a few to pick from, very clean. Lots of things for adults and kids to do, not to just sit there and sunbathe. Lots of shops around the town not just on the sea front. The theme park was just 5 mins on the local bus a very good day out. Don't be conned into buying the three day pass, though one day is enough as we bought 3 day pass and wished we hadn't. The beach front at night was buzzing the coloured fountains were lovely and the kids enjoyed playing in them. It was a bit more expensive on the sea front, but you were paying for a lovery view. Excellent place, would go again.
Salou is great - Mr & Mrs Bamber. Date of travel: Aug 2007
We have been to Salou three times. It is a great place for families. There are no drunks or hooligans in the streets like you get in the other parts of Spain. when we went shopping we would go to the Carrefour supermarket were you can get everything you need and if you are a lover of fresh fish you can get any kind of the massive fresh fish stall. The people who work there will be happy to gut and clean the fish for you. We didn't really bother with nightlife because we had entertainment on Sanguki. We ate out a lot. There are loads of restaurants of all nationalities. The Old Brown Cow in Salou centre do a lovely meal.
Things to Do in Salou, before you fry:) - Roz Miller. Date of travel: Aug 2007
Things to Do in Salou, before you fry:)
Make sure you take a day out and do the Jeep Safari (not Jeep adventure or any other company). Mad water fights between Jeeps as you travel along off-road sections, guided tour of historic village, an entertaining slant on wine tasting. Good knowledge of mountain region travelled through, guides with a sense of humour that join in! Great cooling off opportunity in the river by the dam in the latter half of the day. Great for adults and children (of all ages!) Everyone is encouraged to join in and everybody is included. Go armed to the teeth with water, water pistols, a neckerchief, and swimwear. Plenty of rest stops. Apply factor 50+ BEFORE you start, else you'll give yourself a mud wrap if you try and apply it later. DON'T wear white. A full day excursion for the same charge as the half day excursions I went on. AWESOME sights, brilliant value for money and thoroughly enjoyable.
Best Holiday Ever - Charlotte...Pink Top Girl. Date of travel: Jul 2007
If you are going on holiday to Salou, I recommend highly for you to go on the jeep safari you can have a laugh swimming being flung everywhere on a 4x4 jeep and you can have a laugh with the drivers as well as learn something new. The theme parks are amazing and have something for everyone and the weather is perfect espesh for a great day at the beach!!!
Salou spot on - Gourock Mob. Date of travel: Jun 2007
Lots to do in Salou. Portaventura good day out. Try Furius Baco, new 2007 just as you walk in. Buses take you anywhere and are cheap and every 10 minutes plenty of pubs too. We stayed in Cap Salou which was quieter than Salou but was still good for a night out. Crows Nest & Mikeys karaoke bar, the Paddock for breakfast and Smugglers for dinner. You can't stay there and not try them out and plenty to do for the kids.
It was very busy - Michelle & Sean. Date of travel: Jun 2007
We ate in the Comedy Club which was value for money and also Sinatra's was good. We went on pub crawl with entertainment staff out of hotel which I thought was ok but couldn't do it every night. It was very busy in the town centre. wouldn't take little kids as I thought that there wasn't anything for them to do.
Salou - Amanda Reilly. Date of travel: Oct 2006
Salou was not that clean. A lot of dog dirt on the streets. Beaches were really nice .
Salou Incredible , British unacceptable . - Dominic. Date of travel: Aug 2006
Salou is a wonderful place. It has some fantastic scenery. Ok, like everywhere else it has some grubby run down hotels, but doesnt everywhere? The beaches in Salou are top class, clean and litter free and the seas are crystal clear and jelly fish friendly. I found though in Salou it was very much like Blackpool, you only have to walk 20 yards in any direction to be mawled by some ticket flyer trying to get you to eat in their cafe or drink in their pub. One night we decided to listen to a guy saying how great this cafe was and how is was 3 -4 euros cheaper than anywhere else , I studied the board it had a mixed grill comprising of bacon, gammon, sausage, steak egg and chicken all for 9 euros. Everywhere else for this it was around the 14 euro mark, so I decided to give it a whirl. The waiter came over and I asked for the mixed grill - he said strawberry vanilla or chocolate, I said not icecream, a mixed grill as advertised on the board outside. He seemed to comply with, this took my order then proceeded outside to take a look at what the mix grill ingredients were and then wrote them all down. I got the mixed grill and it was the most horrible thing I have ever eaten in my entire life, the chicken was chickenless, the eggs were hard, the sausage well wasnt sausage and so on , hence why it was 9 euros , so if your travelling to Salou, take my word for it, stay well clear of the cafe 2 doors down from the Tabacco shop opposite a little market on the other side of the road .
Beware Festival Village Salou - Margot Lydon. Date of travel: Jul 2006
Went in high season, hot busy, concrete jungle, grubby dirty, crowded beaches. Shops all the same no variety poor quality not cheap. Good bus service 24hr you will never pay the same fare - strange. La Pineada and Cambrils nice, Portaventura great for kids and family days out, we got 14 day pass came and went generally in evenings great fun expect to get wet and bring own snacks and drinks. 2 water parks went to both -Aquapolis enjoyed more by older kids all ages we enjoyed sealions and dolphins. Caribe has lots for small ones but smelly and dirty. Money required for sunbed inflatables lockers every time u turn around. Tour Operator: falcon
Salou - Allan, Carole, Callum. Date of travel: May 2006
We found Salou to be sunny, clean, friendly and entertaining. Although a short taxi ride away from the hotel (only 6 Euros for the trip) it was great just to jump in the taxi right outside the hotel and be taken right into the centre and beach area. The taxi drivers were very friendly and spoke enough English to understand everything (although they appeared to appreciate my very few words of Spanish! The beaches were immaculate with plenty going on. A varied range of shops (again speaking enough English to get what you want) and a McDonalds to keep the kids happy. Tour Operator: Thomas Cook
I loved Salou - Danielle. Date of travel: May 2006

The first time I went to Salou I took 5 children on my own as husband couldnt come..I had never been abroad before and went on reccomendation from a friend...I went by coach. The whole holiday was fantastic...The beaches clean and not over crowded , tide never seems to go out. Myself and the children would be coming back from port adventura walking on the prom and land up playing on the beach or the little parks at 10 oclock at night...Where ever you take the children they are welcomed ..transport is brilliant where ever you want to go...salou is a childs paradise...so many places to go and so much to do ..A cheap favorite of ours is to get bus to cambrils where the children can fish with nets ..see the fishing boats ect..then take the glass bottomed catermaran back along the coast back to salou..Port adventura beats euro disney hands down..I love Salou ...7 yrs later we are still going back...Children have grown up my youngest now 11 and Salou is still the top of our list as a place to holiday..We are booked for 2006 and cant wait to go back...This time we are flying Tour Operator: SIESTA

Salou itself is all hussle and bussel - pretty packed for even this time of year - we went for 1 week - very clean, friendly, 24 hour buses, beautiful long and wide prominade to walk at night - went to the beach 1 day - hired the beds and stayed 2 hours - the beach was so packed even at this time of the year that my little girl by the water started crying with her little bucket and shovel because of the constant flow of people at the waters edge and I mean constant - i certainly would not like this beach in july or august i would feel like an ant - would i go back there - no. Salou is a great family destination and has something to offer everyone. The resort has a fantastic beach, plenty of shops and a good choice of family bars and resturants. About 10 minutes away is Port Adventura which is a brilliant day out for all the family. If your not brave enough to go on the rides, there are plenty of shows throughout the day for you to see. In the evening there is also a fantastic firework display which is well worth watching. Barcelona is a great excursion available from the resort, which is about 1hr 30mins away. Overall we had a great time here and would not hesitate to go back again!
Sue & Alan. Date of travel: Sep 2005
The hotel was good. Ideally located near all the shops & the beach. It was clean and the food was varied and very nice, most of the staff were also really nice. The entertainment wasnt much though so we ventured out & about. Titanic was English & friendly with live entertainment, the Robin Hood was fabulous for food and the staff were lovely. We had a 7day pass for Aventura and went most days, it was great, the Dragon Khan and the Silver River Flume were favourites but got soaked. Hurricane Condor (very frightening) also the Stampeda but was a bit rough though. There aren't many queues especially from about 2pm and the firework/laser show is worth seeing too! Would definitely go again and would recommend it. Tour Operator: internet

Salou is a fantastic destination for families. It has a beautiful promenade that is a delight to walk along both day and night. Fountains are lit up at night and during the day palm trees offer a little shade. Shops and restuarants are open till late and it has a relaxed atmosphere. Most nights you can watch the sand artists at work: my kids found it fascinating. Buses are cheap, air conditioned and 99% on time. There is a little train that will take you to Port Aventura and this is a lovely way to find out what's around. You needn't buy an excursion as its easy to get to and a brilliant day out. It's better to get a three or seven day pass because you can take your time in each area. Cambrils is a short bus ride away and is also a lovely place to walk at night. Our accomodation was fantastic with a choice of three pools. All in all I would recommend this place time and time again. I could go on forever but I've got to go and book for 2006! SALOU, Spain......If you like Blackpool/lager louts, clubbing and vomit, and lots of Volume, this is the holiday for you. Packed beaches, shops all selling same goods... streets dirty, avoid the back streets. Port Aventura okay, be prepared for queues for all the rides and not much shade, as some walking between rides is required. Take the Jeep Safari, A long day into the hills (hot). Get dusty off road and 1000ft heights. take your own packed lunch and plenty of water, the purchased meal not so good. You will be filmed and asked to buy a copy dvd, and buy local wine etc. Went for a week, flew home after 4 days. Had more fun in hospital. Five holidays in Spain previously, so not naive. Salou Rating 0. Tour Operator rating minus 10. Get used to hearing "sorry for any inconvience". If you find "JACKS" Bar/Cafe, the Guy is from the UK and they will provide you with all the local info: more so than your Rep will, and their food is good. Tour Operator: Aspro

Salou is a great place! We were not far from Port Aventura and the beach. Port Aventura an excellent theme park for all ages! Shops were everywhere, more or less selling the same things.Food was excellent. Nightlife was very good! Entertainment in hotel ok. Went out a lot of nights! We all enjoyed Salou and we are going back in 2006 for the 4th time! Would recommend Salou to anyone! Tour Operator: Thomsons
I would recommend Salou to anyone!! - Amy Newon. Date of travel: Jul 2005
Salou it would seem can be enjoyed by everyone. At our hotel there were groups of friends on holiday as well as families. And Salou catered for all. The town is really clean and modern with great shops and restaurants. The nightlife is brilliant. One particularly good club was Snoepy's. The music was great and there was a mix of nationalities. Port Aventure themepark is a good day out for all ages. Overall I would recommend Salou to anyone!!

This year will be our third visit. The area is very well maintained, clean, and plenty to see and do. The Golden Port Hotel is convenient for the beach, promenade and shops (which are plentiful). I am an aficionado of anything Spanish, and have found nothing in Salou to spoil that. Tour Operator: Thompsons

Salou is very pleasant and there is much to see and do!! We stayed in a nice hotel but I think many other hotels -particularly the ones by the beach - looked very dirty and all they needed were a lick of paint. The beach is lovely but it does get a little busy but this doesn't mean there's no sunbeds left or anything!! Good food can be found at the Fox and Hound, Old Brown Cow, and at Robin Hood. Good bars include Hooppa, Blue Bahia, Tropical Heat, Hollywoods, Chaplins and Lennons, . Snoepy's is an absolutely brilliant club. The music is excellent and the atmosphere is brill! There's loads of people giving you flyers for drinks etc so you'll never be short of where to go!! Barcelona is a must we spent a whole day and there is soo much to see. Can get a bit hot for the kids though. Absolutely exellent city but be a bit more careful with bags, it's easy to spot the pickpockets so dont fall victim to them. Port Aventura is also a must the kids will love it, we bought a one day ticket and were there from 11am until about 10pm and we managed to go around the park twice. For those bargains go to the Bonvista market which is held on Sundays, get the bus as its only cheap!! Tour Operator: Thomsons
